Engineering Recruitment – Market Commentary – January 2024

The end of 2023 capped off an interesting year for us in both permanent and contract recruitment. Whilst our job boards remain volatile, we remain optimistic about the demand for engineering, manufacturing & technology professionals and we’re continuing to invest in our own internal processes and people as a result.

The data below reflects that salaries are generally rising slightly (2%) across the last 3 months which is in line with what we are experiencing. Often our clients are specifying roles at a level but due to the market conditions the accepted salary level is often higher. At the same time, candidates do need to be careful as the second chart reflects the reduction in quantities of opportunities (as compared to the same period last year).
